Nicole Hammond-Preskett

Osteopath, MSK Sonographer and Clinic Partner

Nicole Hammond-Preskett was born in Bournemouth but grew up in Sutton. She spent most of her childhood and adolescence involved in the clinic in one capacity or another, either earning pocket money cleaning the clinic on a Sunday in her early teens and later as a full time receptionist working with her father, Brian Hammond.

She left the clinic in her late teens to pursue a 10 year career in IT with a special interest in Apple computers and design technology. After the birth of her daughter, she decided to enter the healthcare profession following her fathers footsteps, and retrained as an Osteopath. She graduated from the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010 with a first-class honors degree and returned to the clinic as an Osteopath and clinic partner. Nicole-Hammond-Preskett-Im-Registered-Mark-7535 small

She has a special interest in shoulder complaints due to the complexity of the shoulder joint and the many challenging conditions that she treats on a day to day basis at the clinic. Nicole has continued to develop her skills in the treatment of shoulder injuries through numerous postgraduate courses on management protocols and restoring function. She believes that diagnosing the correct structure/s involved in a shoulder complaint is key to providing the correct treatment management for a patient. This prompted her to undergo further professional development in the diagnosis of upper limb and lower limb conditions and completed a year long course in Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound, an imaging service that the Chiltern Health Centre is now providing to all our patients if required.

Nicole has experience in treating numerous conditions of the spine, neck, upper limb and lower limb, whether from degenerative processes or as a result of trauma either work related or in a sporting capacity. She uses a number of different treatment techniques depending on the condition being treated, including soft tissue work, muscle energy techniques, joint manipulative therapy and mobilisation, dry needling, therapeutic ultrasound and interferential therapy. She is also trained in Kinesio taping techniques.

Her other role as Clinic Partner involves the general day to day running of the clinic and marketing tasks. Her skills in IT have been a great asset to the clinic and has helped her to create the clinic website and manage its content as well as keeping up with social media marketing.

Nicole now lives in Epsom with her husband an teenage daughter. She likes to spend her spare time cooking food from around the world, going to the gym and renovating her home. She also enjoys scuba diving and city breaks!
